today i went to the shoreclub … which is owned by David Noideahislastname … the same man who owns Hy’s Encore, Gothems and all the Kegs around in Vancouver …
the atmosphere was exquistite … unlike Hy’s Encore in Downtown Vancouver … it wasnt as dark as Hy’s Encore …
There are big comfy chairs for us to sit on … which was different …
the food during lunch hour is almost the same as Moxie’s, Cactus Club or Milestones …
My friend had a burger … which the name ive forgotten … the description from Chris (our server) was a two inches thick burger … that was without the bread XD … will take 15 minutes to cook …
My other friend … a dessert which was nice … i cant comment on it nor could i remember the name of it …
i had the special of the day … The Trio of Fish Tartare was the special of the day. It was a dish of salmon, tuna and snapper with salmon being the main dish.
The tuna and snapper are absolutely spectacular with the mushroom and scallop sauce infused into fish, which made the two very favorable; no additional seasoning was needed. They were immensely beautiful.
I am indeed disappointed and can’t say the same for the salmon. They probably made the salmon according to how Ned Flanders, character from The Simpsons, likes his food. “Plain” Salmon has distinguished sweet taste that no other fish has. The salmon did not have this flavor. In fact the salmon had no flavor. It did not have any resemblance of a salmon except that it’s pink. The flavor of the beautiful sauce did not reach the salmon. Even the skin was flavorless. You would be extreme lucky to even taste the grill. The salmon was simply despicable.
One of the slices of potato brought me to heaven. This slice of potato I had was not a simple slice of potato. It was a slice of tuna-flavored, mushroom scallop sauce infused slice of potato. Just like a sponge resting inside a pot of soup. Although this was just the garnish, it was sure better than the main dish.
Unfortunately not all the slices of the potato were as great. After having the next three slices of potato, I truly understand the phrase “the higher you climb, the harder you fall”. These three slices were not uniform, burnt and cold.
Having three fish all in one dish is a great idea. It helps those who cannot choose between the three have the three but paying the price of one. Regrettably my experience might have been different if I took the initiative and made that decision between the three.
The Manager Chris Meyer is awesome … thats all i could say basically … if you ever have a chance to have lunch or dinner at The Shoreclub …
Call them at 604 – 899 – 4400
I also urge you to ask if Chris Meyer the Manager is in that day because he is the best person to chat with … he was wonderful with our small little school group and answered all our questions … he even showed us the bottle of Louis XIII when i asked him about it … So ask if he’s in if you’re planning to have a chatty dinner or lunch …
The address of The Shoreclub is
