Its close to christmas time so its a great time to start writing a list of all my “wants” for this year so Ol’ Saint Nick can start prepping …
I kind of made a list for my cigar collection … so here is the start of my Cognac list … not to be confused with my wine list or vodka … rum … tequila … red wine white wine … rose wine … champagne … ….. beer …
weird … cause i dont really like beer either … but of course … if i could get my hands on a bottle of Samuel Adam’s Utopias going for $100
anyways …
so everyone’s dreams starts somewhere … and mine here …
Firstly at the top of the list … possibly the most affordable and most wanted cognac out there …
The Louis Xlll by Remy Martin going for 2031.99 CAD a 700 ml bottle and 4420.99 CAD a 1.5L bottle at the BC Liquor store …
now ive mensioned this one many times mainly because it just might be the best cognac out there … the Remy Martin family isnt the best out of the Four Cognac familys Hennessy, Martell, Remy Martin and Courvoisier but the Louis Xlll is the best among the four …

Second on the list is a bottle of the Hardy Perfection Series Fire Bottle going for 6500.00 USD on google …
it is one of the priciest on my list of cognac …
so why is this series so expensive but no one has ever heard about it ?
well a little history lesson … around 1860 a crazy little bugger called the Phylloxera started attacking grapes in europe … hector by hector they invested and killed the grape plants …
by 1880 almost all the grapes in Europe were gone … fortunately in North America another type of grape (Vini -pronounced Wini – Labrusca) was not attacked by the Phylloxera … with careful planning and biology they were able to bring the North American grapes over to Europe and now they have a hybrid …
now why is this Hardy Perfection Series so expensive and important for collecting? It is because every bottle of this precious cognac had been brewed before the Phylloxera era … so these are the last remaining vinifera (pronounced Winifera because its latin) made beverages in the world … not just that … these bottles have been aging for 140 years before bottling … They arent your normal XO aging from 6 years and up or even your basic family reserve 100 years … these are 140 years old unblended cognacs …

The second one from the left is the fire one …
it goes from air fire water and earth …
hopefully by the time i get enough money to buy one they havent extinct yet … i mean there is the possibility of someone drinking the content of the decanter then filling it with Jack Daniels then selling it for 7000 USD …
Thirdly … The Beaute du Siecle by Hennessy going for 150k Euro which is roughly 235k CAD
Sometimes around December of 2007 Killian Hennessy the 6th generation since the original Hennessy turned 100 years old … for this very special day … Hennessy decided to celebrate it with a special present … with careful planning … they came up with the Beaute du Siecle …
The Beaute du Siecle has cognac ranging from 100 years old to 47 years old being the youngest aged bottle …
the bottle comes with a melted aluminum case … and glass …
the melted aluminum case comes with a bronze key for you to open and lock the case … upon openning the case … the bottle and the glassware rises upward like it did during the Iron Man movie …

Thankyou Kazuhiro Nogi san … they gave the first one to of course Killian Hennessy then the second one to a Charity group … then a few to Japan for display …
so far its only been these three …
there is one bottle of Extra expensive Cognac which goes for 2 millions dollars …
The Henri IV Dudognon Heritage
the main reason this did not make it on my list of wants is because it has nothing special to it … yes its a cognac that has been aged for 100 years … which is way better than most cognacs out there but is it really worth it? no … it is not … thats why it didnt make it onto my list
